Bill left the corporate world to attend film school and tell stories behind the camera. He landed at E! Entertainment, covering the major award shows: Oscars, Emmys, Grammys, SAG Awards, and Golden Globes, as well as press events with many of the era's most recognizable actors and performers. From there, Bill moved on to AOL Studios, filming artists from Lady Gaga to Lady Antebellum in intimate live performances.
Eventually, Bill went freelance, working with Discovery, National Geographic, and Survivor, shooting six feature documentaries, a docu-series for Gloria Steinem and a feature film. He also directed back-to-back projects that screened at the Cannes Film Festival, followed by hundreds of concerts and countless studio promos for many of Los Angeles' major film and television studios.
It became clear Bill was following people and their stories, not technology.
Whether it's an arena, a small event, or a photo studio, I want my subjects to know one thing walking in: there's no right way to be photographed or wrong way to be seen.
I'll offer some guidance, but what I'm really after are unguarded moments. There has to be a word for the moment that comes after the moment.
The best photographs usually aren't of the faces we present, but the ones that allow us to see a bit of ourselves in them.
The camera is a passport. Our work begins when we leave the guided tour behind and follow our instincts.
