Director of Photography

I left the corporate world to follow a less predictable path, attending film school and telling stories behind the camera.

I landed at E! Entertainment, covering the major award shows from the red carpets of the Oscars, Emmys, Grammys, SAG Awards, and Golden Globes, as well as press events with many of the era's most recognizable actors and performers.

​

From there, I moved on to AOL Studios, shooting the live-performance series Sessions, with artists ranging from Lady Gaga to Lady Antebellum.

 

Whether I'm backstage with Selena Gomez, across from Tom Cruise for a retrospective interview, or deep in the Philippine jungles shooting Survivor, I want my subjects to know there's no right way to be photographed or wrong way to be seen.

I've directed two short films that screened at Cannes and shot a docu-series for Gloria Steinem. Today, I move between stills and motion for advertising campaigns, nonprofits, and corporate events with leaders in sports, marketing, and finance. Documentaries, independent artists, and the occasional ballet company keep things interesting.

​

But it's the unguarded moments that still catch me—the ones that get past the stage persona and let us see something of ourselves in another person's journey. I'm still looking for a word for that moment.

I've always said the camera is a passport. It's taken me to Hollywood and halfway around the world, but that was never the destination. The real adventure begins when we catch our own reflection in the lens.
